Qatar Airways resumes Nagpur-Doha flights

Nagpur: Qatar Airways resumed Nagpur-Doha flights, which were suspended due to the Middle East conflict, with the first plane landing at the Nagpur airport on Thursday morning. The aircraft was carrying 45 passengers, including one overseas citizen of India (OCI). The aircraft later took off with 60 passengers, which again included one OCI.OCIs are foreign nationals of Indian origin who have a lifetime visa for India and can carry out work and education in the country.The number of passengers was much below the capacity. However, it is expected that fliers would increase in the subsequent flights. Qatar Airways would be operating the flight five times a week and is seen as a convenient source for connecting to Europe, say sources in the travel industry.Qatar Airways is among the two airlines that run international flights from the Nagpur airport. The other is Air Arabia, which connects to Sharjah. Both the airlines have resumed services. Travel agents are demanding more international flights from Nagpur, especially connecting eastwards to countries like Singapore and Thailand.
