Pacer Prince Yadav was on Wednesday handed an international debut as India geared up to take on Afghanistan in the second One-Dayer at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
The 24-year-old received his cap from India’s T20I skipper Shreyas Iyer.

Prince had caused a flutter with his performances in the Delhi Premier League 2024, returning 13 wickets from 10 matches in the colours of Purani Dilli 6.
That not only earned him a white-ball debut for Delhi, but it also got him a contract worth INR 30 lakh with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL). He picked up three wickets in the six games he played at an economy of 9.75.
Having been retained by LSG in 2026, Prince repaid the faith with 16 wickets in 14 games. His impressive figures made him difficult to ignore as the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee announced a 15-member squad for India’s three-match series against Afghanistan on Tuesday, May 19.
