Paradip Port ranks no. 2 in India

Kendrapada: Paradip Port has emerged as the second-largest major port in India while retaining its first position on the east coast and in coastal shipping, handling 65.81 million metric tonnes (MMT) of coastal cargo during 2025-26. The port handled an all-time high 156.45 MMT of cargo during the financial year, registering around 4% growth over the previous year, Paradip Port Authority chairperson P L Haranadh said while addressing a meeting in Paradip on Saturday. He said Paradip Port had undergone transformation over the past five years, with cargo handling increasing from 114 MMT in 2020-21 to over 156 MMT in 2025-26. It had become India’s no. 1 cargo-handling major port in 2023-24.
