Rewari/Jhajjar: The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2026 was conducted peacefully across Rewari and Jhajjar on Sunday amid tight security, extensive CCTV surveillance and strict monitoring by the district administrations.Authorities deployed heavy police presence, imposed prohibitory orders around examination centres and enforced multi-layered security checks to ensure a fair and malpractice-free examination.In Rewari, 3,938 candidates had registered for the test across 12 centres. Of them, 3,673 appeared, while 265 remained absent, taking attendance to 93.27%.Deputy commissioner Abhishek Meena and superintendent of police Hemendra Kumar Meena visited examination centres to review security arrangements, candidate verification procedures and logistical preparations.In Jhajjar, the examination was held at eight centres. Of the 2,348 registered candidates, 2,163 appeared and 185 remained absent, resulting in an attendance rate of more than 92%.Deputy commissioner Varsha Khangwal inspected the centres and reviewed CCTV surveillance, security deployment, confidentiality protocols for question papers, seating arrangements and facilities for candidates.The examination was conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm, with specially abled candidates being granted additional time in accordance with prescribed norms.
