The internet is both impressed and worried
A man from Madhya Pradesh has grabbed attention online after a daring dive into the powerful Dhuandhar Falls in Bhedaghat was caught on camera. The risky jump left tourists stunned, with many comparing it to an “Olympics-level” dive.
The clip shows the man standing near the edge of the roaring waterfall before jumping straight into the fast-moving waters of the Narmada River. Tourists watching from a safer area can be seen recording the moment as the man disappears into the waterfall and later resurfaces safely.
The Video Shows A Daring Dive At Dhuandhar Falls
Dhuandhar Falls, located in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhedaghat area near Jabalpur, is one of the region’s most famous tourist attractions. The waterfall, often called the “Niagara of India,” is known for its strong currents and misty appearance created by the force of the water crashing down from nearly 30 metres.
The video was shared on Instagram by the handle ‘the_india_report’. The caption described the diver as Ashish Thakur and claimed he was known locally for his experience in navigating the dangerous waters near the falls.
The post read, “What looks like a dangerous stunt to tourists is actually years of skill, courage, and experience in the powerful waters of the Narmada River. Viral videos of Bhedaghat diver Ashish Thakur are now grabbing attention online, but locals know these fearless divers do much more than entertain crowds. From navigating deadly currents near Dhuandhar Falls to helping rescue people swept away in the river, these men risk their lives every day.”
Internet Reacts To The Risky Dive
As the clip spread online, many social media users praised the man’s diving skills while also expressing concern about the danger involved.
A user wrote, “Honestly that man is doing this because of desperation to earn money, maybe he should be recruited as a life guard with his skill set. Which would enable him to earn a living.”
Another commented, “No doubt he is skilful, but we should stop encouraging him.. anytime an accident can happen.”
“He probably doesn’t know that the dive was Olympics level Dive with 100% Precision,” a person said.
A user added, “His life is also precious, such a risk is his survival unfortunately when he has no other means of livelihood.”
“It’s risk to the human life. He should be restricted to do such stunts,” another comment read. Someone else wrote, “Man can do anything for their family.”
