A job applicant’s blunt WhatsApp message has taken LinkedIn by storm after founder and marketing strategist Nancy Srivastava shared screenshots of the conversation. From demanding a ₹40,000-₹50,000 salary to insisting on fixed weekends off and “WhatsApp only” communication, the candidate’s confidence has left the internet talking.

According to Srivastava, the candidate reached out expressing interest in a Digital Marketing/Content Writer position. Along with the message, the applicant attached a portfolio and highlighted experience in creating social media content as well as AI-driven content writing using advanced prompt engineering.

However, it was the candidate’s list of conditions that caught everyone’s attention. The applicant clearly mentioned an expected salary of ₹40,000-₹50,000, stating, “Isse Kam mai nhi ho payega.” The message also requested fixed Saturdays and Sundays off, while asking that all communication happen only through WhatsApp instead of phone calls.

The message read:

“Hello HR Team, I am applying for the Digital Marketing / Content Writer role. I have practical experience in creating social media posts and I am highly skilled in AI-driven Content Writing using advanced prompt engineering. Please find my portfolio attached. Looking forward to your response. Salary range 40000-50000. Isse Kam mai nhi ho payega, Mujhe Saturday Sunday fixed off chahiye agar ho sakta hai please confirm on whatsapp only not call.”

Sharing a screenshot of the exchange, Srivastava jokingly wrote that the conversation left her wondering who was actually conducting the hiring.

“Yesterday I received a WhatsApp message from a candidate. It started with:

‘Hi.’ By the end of it… I wasn’t sure who was hiring whom. 😂 Salary expectations. Weekend policy. Communication preferences. The only things missing was… ‘Offer letter kab bhej rahe ho?’ 😂 ‘Joining kab se karni hai?’ 😭 Confidence level: 100/100.

Have you ever received a message like this?” she wrote.

The post quickly gained traction on LinkedIn, drawing hundreds of reactions from users who shared humorous takes on the candidate’s confidence.

One user joked, “I want this type of confidence please share me the number I want coaching.”

Another commented, “Technically, they are the ones who stand out the most! LOL I find these types of people and cracked those know the work better are the ones worth taking in game.”

A third user wrote, “I would like to join with him/her🤚 just let me know from when my employment will start. 🙂”

Another amusing response read, “Algorithms at the back side – Arey isko kis profile pr job suggest karni hai… 😝”

One LinkedIn user praised the applicant’s straightforwardness, writing, “This is the level of clarity we want in our lives 👀”

Meanwhile, another simply remarked, “Gen Z …”

Not everyone was convinced by the viral post, however. One user questioned whether the conversation was genuine, writing, “Another fake post, aisa log bol sakte h. just look at the timeline, 9:19 pm starting to ending. itne jldi kon type krleta h? messages bhi forwarded nhi h. apne khud hi dusre number se message copy paste to nahi kiya, and agar ye usne hi kiya h(manually not possible) to skill to h kuch usme, aisa bhi log bol sakte h. Please dont get me wrong,”
