NER GM inspects reviews preps for new Delhi-bound trains

Gorakhpur: General manager of NE Railway Uday Borwankar on Wednesday conducted a window trailing inspection of the Gorakhpur-Chhapra rail section along with principal heads of departments and senior officials from the headquarters and divisions. He later inspected the Chhapra Junction-Chhapra Gramin section with Varanasi divisional railway manager Ashish Jain, CPRO, NER Sumit Singh said.During the inspection, Borwankar reviewed passenger amenities, cleanliness and ongoing infrastructure works, including goods shed platform project at Chhapra Gramin station. He also carried out a detailed inspection of Chhapra Junction station and the coaching depot.The GM discussed various construction and redevelopment works proposed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and directed officials to ensure their completion within the stipulated time frame while maintaining high quality standards, chief PRO Sumit Kumar said.Borwankar inspected the station premises, platforms, circulating area, foot overbridges, second entry gate, parking facilities, passenger movement arrangements, security systems and cleanliness measures. He also reviewed crowd management plans for summer and examination special trains, including holding areas and operational arrangements.Inspecting food vending stalls at the station, he instructed officials to ensure passengers are provided with hygienic and quality services.The GM also reviewed preparations for the launch of two new trains —Chhapra-Anand Vihar Terminal and Mau-Anand Vihar Terminal — scheduled to be flagged off by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Jun 19.
