Berhampur: The Ganjam police on Sunday arrested the nephew of a state cabinet minister for allegedly abetting the suicide of a BCA student who was found dead in a private engineering college at Golanthara near Berhampur on Saturday. “We have arrested Biswajit Jena (24), who graduated from the same college recently, based on a complaint by the victim’s unlce,” Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M said. Jena was the victim’s boyfriend.On Saturday, the deceased, a second-year student (20), was found hanging in her hostel room. The exact cause of her death would be ascertained after receiving the post-mortem report, Vivek said, adding, “Investigation is going on.” The deceased hailed from a village in Buguda and stayed at the hostel of the engineering college.Her younger sister studies in the same college and stays in the hostel.
