T’puram: Vizhinjam police on Saturday arrested Mohammed Kaif (24) of Puliyoorkonam, Kottukal, for allegedly stealing two high-end mobile phones and cash from employees of a private resort while they were asleep at their accommodation in Chowara.Police said the theft occurred on July 11 at the building housing the resort staff. Kaif was traced using CCTV footage recorded near the scene. The stolen phones, worth about Rs 1 lakh, and Rs 700 in cash were missing when the employees woke up and filed a complaint.During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to selling the phones in the city soon after the theft. Police have begun a detailed probe.
