Kanpur: A man died by suicide after killing his brother with an axe over a land dispute in Sahiyapur village under Indragarh police station area of Kannauj district on Monday, police said.Ramasare, son of Siyaram (60), a resident of Sahiyapur village, had a land dispute with his brother Ram Bhole (56). On Monday, the dispute escalated and Ram Bhole attacked Ramasare with an axe. He was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition where he died during treatment. Ram Bhole later hanged himself to death, said police.On being informed, Indargarh police arrived at the spot and inspected the scene. The police took possession of both the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.According to villagers tension had prevailed within the family over the land for a long time.SP Kannauj Vinod Kumar Singh stated, “Going by the prima-facie findings, the incident was fallout of a property related dispute. Bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and investigations are underway.”
