Kanpur: A 40-year-old man shockingly died while preparing for the last rites of his deceased wife on Tuesday in Auraiya’s Madhavapur village.The deceased, Shyamlal Das’s wife, Pinky (35), passed away at a private hospital on Monday after battling tuberculosis for the past four years.According to villagers, Shyamlal sat beside his wife’s body throughout the night.On Tuesday morning, as preparations for the funeral were underway, he was applying vermilion to her forehead when he suddenly collapsed and died on the spot.Shyamlal’s father-in-law, Ramsanehi, arranged the last rites for both. The couple was cremated together on a riverbank.
