The newly inaugurated centralised community kitchen at the Agricultural Market Yard in Madhira has been equipped to prepare breakfast on a large-scale under hygienic conditions.

Set up in an 8,000 sq. ft. shed by the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation (HKMCF), the kitchen has automated equipment capable of preparing 1,520 idlis in 20 minutes, 2,000 dosas in an hour and 3,600 puris an hour. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka inspected the facility after inaugurating it on Monday.

HKMCF representatives briefed Mr. Vikramarka on the technology-driven food preparation process and the advanced equipment installed at the kitchen.

They explained that these modern systems would facilitate the timely distribution of fresh, nutritious and hygienically prepared breakfast to 44,107 students of 879 government and residential schools across 16 mandals in Khammam district under the School Breakfast Scheme.

The Deputy CM also inaugurated a quality testing laboratory on the kitchen premises and flagged off custom-built vehicles for transporting breakfast to schools.
