Latest iOS 27 beta code includes references to the iPhone Ultra

Apple has rolled out the fourth developer beta of iOS 27. According to a new report, the update includes code strings that reference the company’s rumored foldable iPhone, which is widely expected to be called the iPhone Ultra.

The folks over at Macworld discovered new code strings in the Battery Health section of iOS 27 Beta 4 that reference an iPhone with multiple batteries.

According to the report, the beta includes strings such as “the batteries in this iPhone are performing as expected” and “the health of the batteries in this iPhone has significantly degraded.” Another string refers to “one of the batteries” being identified as a non-genuine Apple part.

So far, Apple has never shipped an iPhone with multiple batteries. However, the company’s rumored foldable iPhone has been tipped to feature a dual-battery design due to its foldable form factor.

References to Apple’s foldable iPhone were also spotted in the first iOS 27 developer beta.
