Ballari: A juvenile has been identified as the prime accused in the murder of 21-year-old Nabi Rasool, who was allegedly stabbed to death during a party organised to celebrate his wedding in the Batti area under Cowl Bazaar police station limits on the night of July 16, SP Suman D Pennekar said.In a press note released on Friday, the SP stated that a case was registered at Cowl Bazaar police station on July 17 and an investigation was immediately launched.According to Pennekar, Nabi Rasool had hosted a party for his friends following his wedding. During the gathering, where liquor was being consumed, an argument broke out between the victim and the juvenile. The verbal altercation escalated, following which the juvenile allegedly stabbed Nabi Rasool with a knife, resulting in his death.The SP said that Tahir, Salman and Sameer allegedly assisted the juvenile in the commission of the crime. The juvenile, Tahir alias Heena, and Sameer have been arrested, while Salman remains absconding. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend him, she added.Pennekar said the case was cracked by a team led by DSP Govind Raju V under the supervision of Cowl Bazaar police inspector GR Shanmukhappa. The investigation team comprised PSI MP Ravi, ASIs Ningappa and Manjunath, and police personnel BR Umesh, Umapathi, Vinod, Srinivas and Bhimanagouda.The SP commended the investigating team for swiftly solving the sensational murder case.
