Protesters hit streets in Hubballi, demand NEET scrap and minister’s exit
A massive protest was organised in Hubballi today seeking to cancel NEET and the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan

Hubballi: A protest rally was organised in Hubballi on Monday demanding the cancellation of NEET, the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and action on the demands raised by environmentalist and education activist Sonam Wangchuk. The protest, led by Samaanategaagi Naavu Organisation along with Dalit, farmer, labour, women’s and minority groups, began at Dr BR Ambedkar Circle. Senior journalist Sanath Kumar Belagali, farmer activist BS Soppina, former MP IG Sanadi and Shyamala Guruprasad flagged off the march. Despite rain, protesters marched through the city’s main roads and later reached the tahsildar’s office, where they submitted a memorandum addressed to the President of India. The memorandum included 11 demands, urging the Centre to immediately hold talks with Sonam Wangchuk, Neha Bora, Manish and Amin, who have been on a hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for nearly 20 days.
