Jhansi: State Tourism and Culture Minister and Jhansi district in-charge Minister, Jaiveer Singh, on Saturday unveiled Jhansi’s new official logo carrying the slogans “Glorious History, Bright Future” and “Jhansi: Towards Development with Valor.” The launch took place during a district-level review meeting of development projects and govt welfare schemes.Chairing meetings of the core committee and the district administrative coordination committee, the minister reviewed the progress of major govt schemes. Electricity and drinking water supply issues were extensively discussed in the meeting. Responding to power complaints registered by the consumers, Singh instructed the chief engineer of the electricity department to improve responsiveness and ensure timely resolution of public grievances. Expressing concern over Jhansi’s water supply issues, the minister instructed officials of Jal Nigam, Jal Sansthan and the Municipal Corporation to work in coordination to ensure the delivery of clean drinking water to every household. In the health sector review, Singh ordered an inquiry into repeated incidents of alleged altercations between doctors and attendants at Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College. He said that a committee will investigate the complaints, and strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty. He also directed the chief development officer to investigate reports of private individuals allegedly prescribing medicines at the district hospital and other irregularities.Taking serious note on the irregularities alleged in the implementation of CM’s mass-marriage scheme, the minister ordered an inquiry into the scheme and directed that future beneficiaries’ marriages be properly registered.District magistrate Gaurang Rathi briefed the minister on key district projects and highlighted an innovative grievance-redressal initiative in which officials interact directly with complainants through video conferencing to resolve issues on the spot. Earlier in the day, the minister chaired a Core Committee meeting at the Circuit House, where public representatives discussed district development and implementation of govt schemes.
