An unusual survival story involving a swarm of honeybees has gone viral online after a social media post claimed that a man in India stood frozen for nearly 30 minutes when thousands of honeybees suddenly gathered around him.
The viral post, shared by X user @medisarasu, recounted what it described as “A Terrifying 30 Minutes” in the life of a 25-year-old man named Verel. According to the post, what began as a routine walk to a garage quickly turned into a frightening ordeal when a queen bee reportedly landed on his pants.
The situation escalated within moments. The post claimed that after the queen bee attached itself to his clothing, thousands of honeybees gathered around him, effectively turning him into the centre of a massive swarm.
The bees reportedly clustered around the back of his pants, creating a scene that many online users found both unbelievable and terrifying.
The post described the incident as “The Queen in His Rear” and explained that any sudden movement could have provoked the insects into stinging him. Faced with the possibility of being attacked by thousands of bees, Verel allegedly chose to remain completely motionless despite the fear, discomfort and embarrassment of the situation.
“The Ultimate Test of Endurance,” the post called it, claiming that he stood frozen in place for more than 30 minutes while people around him watched the extraordinary scene unfold.
What made the story even more remarkable was its reported outcome. According to the post, Verel managed to avoid being stung altogether. It listed the incident’s statistics as follows: thousands of bees gathered, approximately 30 minutes spent standing still, and zero stings sustained.
The post further stated that the ordeal came to an end when Verel successfully lured the queen bee into a container. Once the queen bee was separated from him, the swarm reportedly dispersed, bringing the tense situation to a safe conclusion.
Describing the episode as “a miraculous survival brought by stillness,” the post concluded by asking readers whether they could remain as calm if they found themselves surrounded by thousands of bees. It also warned people to be cautious during seasons when insects are particularly active.
