A young woman who landed a seven-figure job at Barclays after graduating from Lady Shri Ram College has shared why she decided to quit at just 21. Despite having a well-paying corporate job and a stable career path, she said something in her life did not feel right.

In an Instagram video, she shared how life looked “perfect on paper” with a good salary, a reputed company and a stable future ahead. However, she said she constantly felt disconnected from the life she was living and eventually decided to quit without having another job lined up.

She Spoke About Quitting Barclays

The video opens with the woman introducing herself and talking about her decision. “I left my seven-figure job at Barclays at the age of twenty-one, and I had no idea what I was doing,” she says in the clip. She explained that after graduating from LSR, she joined Barclays directly from college.

According to her, everything looked perfect from the outside. “I had the dream college, a perfect job. I mean, what else would I need, right?” she said.

However, after long workdays, she started feeling disconnected from the life she was living. “But to be honest, something in life wasn’t clicking that time. Like, I used to come back home after a really long day and just sit and think, ‘If I do this for five more years, who do I become?’” she added.

Five Difficult Months Followed

The woman revealed that she resigned from Barclays without having another job lined up. She then returned to Jodhpur and spent the next five months trying to figure out what she truly wanted.

“So I resigned without any job waiting for me. I came back to Jodhpur for the next five months, and trust me, it was the most uncomfortable phase of my life,” she said.

According to her, those months were filled with anxiety and constant overthinking. “I kept overthinking my decision because what if there’s even a one percent chance that I took a wrong decision?” she said.

In the caption of the post, she clarified that leaving Barclays was not because she disliked the company. “And not because Barclays wasn’t good, it was AMAZING. But because I wasn’t feeling aligned,” she wrote.

She also admitted that shifting back home without a backup plan felt risky, but deep down she believed she wanted something more from life.

She Says She Found Alignment Later

The woman shared that the difficult phase eventually helped her understand herself better. “That time of my life stretched me in ways I never expected – anxiety, risks, rebuilding, unlearning. but somewhere in between, i found alignment,” she wrote.

She added that she is now doing work she genuinely enjoys and does not regret taking the risk. “And trust me when I say this, I am so glad I left because at twenty-one I’d rather experiment early than regret it for the rest of my life,” she said in the video.

She also mentioned that she still has many things to figure out and plans to share more about her journey online.

Internet Reacts To Her Story

As the video gained attention online, many users related to her experience and shared their own thoughts in the comments section.

A user wrote, “Keep growing buddy more power to you I am 25 still figuring out to quit my current job and to full time content creation.”

Another said, “You should try things in your early career but nothing is risk proof maybe you wanna be influencer got influenced or build something but before it gets bad try to explore back else it gets hard.”

“The scary decisions usually become the best stories later,” a person commented. “Keep growing, keep shining,” someone wrote. A comment also read, “Keep pushing your boundaries.”
