The Hero Xoom 160 is Hero’s most powerful and most premium scooter in India. Consequently, it is not sold at all of Hero’s dealer network. The Hero Xoom 160 is available in a single variant. This fully-loaded ZX trim is priced at Rs 1,39,898 (ex-showroom, Delhi). By offering only one version, Hero simplifies the choice for buyers, as the scooter comes with all features as standard. I feel this is a good move considering its target buyers are anyway looking for the most premium experience a scooter can offer.
Booking Details
Bookings are open on Hero’s official website. The process requires selecting the model, verifying contact details with an OTP, and choosing a state, city, and the nearest Premia dealership. A standard Hero showroom cannot be selected for delivery. The booking amount is Rs 8,000 and is fully refundable. As the Premia network is newer and more limited than Hero’s standard dealership footprint, I’d suggest prospective buyers confirm colour availability and delivery timelines with their outlet before booking.

Colours
The Hero Xoom 160 is offered in four colour options. Since there is only one ZX variant, all colours are available across the board. The choices are Matte Rainforest Green, Matte Volcanic Grey, Summit White, and Canyon Red. My favourite is the Matte Rainforest Green as it really goes well with its ADV-inspired design.
Convenience Features
The Xoom 160 is equipped with several modern convenience features. It includes a Smart Key system that allows for keyless ignition and remote seat opening. The digital speedometer integrates with a smartphone via Bluetooth to provide turn-by-turn navigation.
For rider comfort, it has dual footrest positions (inclined and flat), letting the rider shift their stance on longer journeys. A USB charging port and Hero’s i3S idle start-stop technology are also standard. Optional accessories like a top box and a larger windscreen are available for buyers looking to enhance its touring capabilities.
Safety Features
For braking, the scooter uses a 240mm front disc brake with single-channel ABS and a rear disc brake. Visibility is handled by a dual-chamber LED headlamp and an LED DRL. The 14-inch wheels are fitted with block-pattern tyres, so bad roads shouldn’t be a problem for this scooter.
Engine and Performance
Powering the Xoom 160 is a 156cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine. This unit produces 14.8PS and 14Nm, managed by an automatic transmission. It’s powerful yet refined enough. It offers ample punch for quick overtakes in the city, and is also capable of sustaining 80kmph out on the highway, with just enough grunt in reserve for overtakes even at that speed. The Xoom 160’s engine is not meant for mileage but rather for spirited riding.
Rivals
The Xoom 160’s primary competitor is the Yamaha Aerox 155, which is a little sportier and has road-biased tyres instead of a block pattern one. Its suspension is also firm, so it’s best enjoyed on smooth roads.
Lower down the displacement category, the only other maxi-style scooter available is the Suzuki Burgman Street. It’s more affordable, and will offer better mileage. Just don’t expect Xoom 160-levels of performance.
