Haryana CM orders action against officials, perpetrators during public grievance hearing in Ladwa

Ladwa (Kurukshetra): Haryana chief minister (CM) Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday ordered strict action against officials responsible for installing electricity poles and a transformer in the middle of a farm access path in Bakali village, and directed police to register a case against those allegedly threatening the complainant.Addressing a Jan Samvad (public interaction) in Ladwa, the CM said the government would not tolerate harassment of citizens or repeated delays in resolving public grievances. He warned that officials and employees forcing citizens to make repeated visits to government offices would face action.The CM heard 338 complaints during the programme, which was attended by former minister of state Subhash Sudha and CM’s office in-charge Kailash Saini, among others.In another matter, Saini directed police officials to arrest the accused in a suicide case and ensure the complainant was satisfied with the investigation.Referring to the Bakali village complaint, the CM directed the SDM, Ladwa, to conduct an inquiry into the matter. The complainant alleged that after purchasing nearly seven acres of land several years ago, certain individuals, unhappy with the transaction, colluded with an SDO to install electricity poles and a transformer on the designated pathway leading to his fields. The complainant also alleged receiving death threats. Taking serious note of the issue, Saini ordered immediate action.The CM said the Jan Samvad platform symbolises the government’s commitment to continuous development, public welfare and a brighter future for the region. He instructed officials to ensure prompt redressal of complaints so that no citizen is forced to make repeated rounds of government offices.During the programme, Saini also issued several spot directions to departments. Acting on a complaint by Jasbir Singh of Dhanaura Jattan village, he instructed the Education Department to examine the feasibility of upgrading the local school to Class XII level. On another complaint, he directed the Marketing Board to complete the road between Khirki Viran and Rurki village before the onset of monsoon to benefit residents of around six villages. The PWD Department was also instructed to complete the Kanipla village road before the rainy season.The CM further directed education officials to expedite online correction of student records to ensure admission of a child in a private school under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. He also instructed power department officials to replace a transformer in the fields of Balwinder Singh of Kalirano village on the same day, stating that citizens should not have to wait for months for basic services. A new transformer was also ordered for Muniyarpur village after the previous one was stolen.In another matter, Saini directed police officials to arrest the accused in a suicide case and ensure the complainant was satisfied with the investigation.Highlighting development works in the Ladwa Assembly segment, CM Saini said drinking water pipelines had been laid in 65 villages at a cost of Rs 11.51 crore. The Saharanpur-Kurukshetra road passing through Ladwa had been widened to four lanes at a cost of Rs 10.20 crore.He said construction of the SDM office complex was underway at a cost of Rs 16.20 crore, of which 22% work had already been completed. Under CM announcements, Rs 16.37 crore had been allocated to the Ladwa Municipal Council for various development works, out of which Rs 7.52 crore had already been spent.Saini said 364 houses had been constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, while work on 249 more houses was in progress. Under the Har Ghar Grihini Yojana, 9,240 families received LPG cylinders for Rs 500. He added that 1.59 lakh people had been found eligible under the Ayushman Chirayu scheme and 1.20 lakh Chirayu cards had already been issued.The CM also highlighted irrigation and infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening the rural economy and supporting farmers. Three permanent bridges are being constructed over the Rakshi river at a cost of Rs 1.35 crore, while a 2,200-foot RCC track project worth Rs 3.12 crore has also been approved.Comparing development expenditure, Saini said that in the last 11-and-a-half years, 74 CM announcements had been made for the Ladwa constituency, of which 38 projects had already been completed and work on the remaining was ongoing. He claimed that Rs 807 crore had been spent on development works in Ladwa during this period, compared to Rs 310 crore during the previous Congress government’s 10-year tenure.A sewage treatment plant and sewer lines costing Rs 26 crore have also been established in Ladwa city, he added.Kurukshetra deputy commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena welcomed the CM and other guests at the event, while BJP district president Tajinder Singh Goldy proposed the vote of thanks.
