Mohali: Mohali police have busted an inter-district vehicle theft gang and arrested five accused, recovering 15 stolen two-wheelers, including 14 motorcycles and an Activa, besides four stolen mobile phones.Acting on a tip-off, a Phase-11 police station team set up a naka and arrested Gurpreet Singh alias Bobby of Safipur village while he was riding a stolen Hero Splendor motorcycle without a registration plate. During interrogation, he allegedly revealed the names of his accomplices, leading to the arrest of four others.Based on their disclosures, police recovered a total of 15 stolen two-wheelers and four mobile phones from different locations. Investigators are probing the accused’s involvement in other vehicle theft cases in Mohali and neighbouring districts and have begun the process of identifying the owners of the recovered property. The police have initiated the process of identifying the rightful owners of the recovered vehicles and mobile phones so that the stolen property can be returned after completing the necessary legal formalities.
