Harsh Goenka Reacts To Indians Dancing On Railway Tracks Abroad: ‘Fun Is Ok, But This Is Nuisance’

Once again, industrialist Harsh Goenka has raised questions about Indians’ public conduct and civic sense while visiting foreign countries. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), he called out a group of Indians who were seen dancing on a railway track, describing their behaviour as a “nuisance.”

The clip began with a woman holding an idol in her hand at the front, while a bunch of women and men followed her. They were captured dancing and singing energetically on railway tracks in a narrow street, which seemed to be the popular tourist spot in Hanoi, Vietnam.

They were singing a Hindi song and dancing on the track as other tourists watched them film the moment. All the women and men were dancing in a train-like formation on the track. At one point, they even began shouting with full enthusiasm.

This incident caught the attention of Goenka, who had previously called out Indians’ behaviour abroad. In his post, he wrote, “Everyday a new reel of our great tourists appear! Here’s a Marwari group supposedly having fun abroad. Fun is ok, but this is nuisance!”

Internet Is Divided Over Harsh Goenka’s Remark

His post sparked debate in the comments about Indians’ behaviour in other countries, etiquette, and the country’s representation abroad, with many calling out the group.

“All for social to ‘show’ they are having fun. Individuals, tours, everyone is infected with the ‘show you my fun’ disease. This one has no vaccine invented yet. Without showing or displaying a vacation can’t be one,” said one user.

“Causing public nuisance is not entertainment. Similar behaviour observed on flights carrying Indian groups upsetting other passengers,” someone else quipped.

One remarked, “They think that they look very beautiful and cool, but should understand the reality that u look like baboons who escaped the zoo.”

“Need to do two small things: School them for basic mannerisms before granting Visas. Secondly, make them sign an undertaking. At least this will make life easier for well-mannered Indian tourists,” suggested a different person.

Another person commented, “I would sincerely request these fun lovers to stay in India & not tarnish India’s image all over the world.”

Meanwhile, a person mentioned that the group was not causing any “nuisance”, saying, “This is nowhere near nuisance! They are not even loud! Are people not allowed to make reels in public places? I think we are overreacting on many things unnecessarily these days. Let local govt take action if they find anything problematic.”
