Driven by perseverance, the 61-year-old former Maoist leader Tippiri Thirupati alias Devuji excelled in the Telangana Law Common Entrance Test (TG LAWCET)-2026, the results of which were announced on Thursday.
Sources close to his family said he secured 349th rank in the test for L.L.B Five Year Degree Course.
Mr. Thirupati, a native of Korutla in Jagtial district, returned to the mainstream earlier this year after spending nearly four decades underground as a key figure in the outlawed outfit’s armed rebellion.
He had a meteoric rise in the ranks of the banned organisation from a student leader of the Radical Students Union (RSU) to the Central Committee (Apex decision making body) of the banned organisation during his underground life spanning around 40 years.
He appeared for the Intermediate second year Telugu exam last month to resume his studies.
Sources close to him emphasise Mr. Thirupati’s apparent ambition to study L.L.B and practice law to bring about social transformation and societal change through constitutional means.
