JAIPUR: A 55-year-old former office bearer of BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha Mandal was allegedly murdered Monday evening at his scrap warehouse located near the Manoharpur bus stand in Jaipur district. They staged a sit-in protest, calling for the immediate arrest of the accused, a thorough investigation, and compensation along with a government job for a family member. To ensure public safety amid rising tensions, heavy police deployment was made in the area.According to police reports, Aswal was at his warehouse around 7:30pm when a man entered the premises and launched an attack using a sharp-edged weapon. Preliminary investigations suggest that Aswal attempted to defend himself against the assailant, as a deep injury was found on his wrist. The assailant fled the scene after the fatal attack.Family members grew anxious when Aswal did not return home. Upon visiting the warehouse, they discovered him lying in a pool of blood and swiftly transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Police later moved the body to the hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. An FSL team inspected the spot shortly after midnight and collected evidence. Police also checked CCTV footage from the warehouse and nearby areas. In response to the ongoing unrest, police have formed four teams dedicated to tracing the suspected killer, conducting multiple raids, and scrutinising CCTV footage from the warehouse and its surroundings. Initial findings suggest that personal enmity could be a potential motive, although investigators are exploring all possibilities. The protest concluded around 5:30pm Tuesday after police officials assured the grieving family that the case would be resolved within five days. Moreover, the local administration announced compensation and a proposed contractual govt job for a family member, alongside an allotment of a dairy booth.
