Food poisoning case: Karajagi Residential School principal & warden suspended

Kalaburagi: The Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS) has suspended Morarji Desai Residential School principal Sharanabasappa Patil and warden Ravi Vali after 55 students reportedly fell seriously ill following the consumption of contaminated food at the school in Karajagi village of the taluk.KREIS Executive Director Shivaswamy B issued the suspension order, stating that the action was taken due to dereliction of duty and negligence in discharging official responsibilities.Ensuring the health and well-being of residential school students and maintaining the quality of food served to them were among the primary responsibilities of the officials. However, the order stated that their gross negligence resulted in a situation where 55 students fell ill at the same time.The suspension order noted that the lapse in duty was clearly evident and that disciplinary action was necessary. Both officials have been placed under suspension pending the completion of a departmental inquiry into the incident.
