Prayagraj: Fatehpur police have lodged an FIR under section 318 (4) ( cheating) of BNS and section 12 of prevention of corruption act against toll employees, at Jindpur Toll Plaza and another known man on the charges of causing losses to government revenue collection and extorting money from commercial trucks drivers to pass their vehicles despite being overloaded.After a video went viral on social media, the police outpost incharge at Bahua, Sub inspector AK Mishra has lodged an FIR with Lalaluli police station against an unknown man and unidentified Jindpur Toll Plaza personnel alleging money extortion from commercial vehicles passing through toll plaza.Police said that the toll plaza employees, by engaging in corruption, are causing loss of revenue and, for their personal gain, are carrying out extortion through a private individual. Cops also received complaints from the general public in this regard. Police said committing theft by evading revenue tax through corruption in collusion with private individuals by toll employees is a punishable offense under Section 318(4) of the BNS and Section 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
