Four women personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) have created history by reaching the summit of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. Their climb marked the first time an all-women BSF team completed the expedition, making it a proud moment for the force and the country.

The team reached the 8,848.86-metre summit on May this year as part of BSF’s ‘Mission Vande Mataram.’ The expedition was organised during the force’s Diamond Jubilee year and also marked the 150th anniversary celebrations of “Vande Mataram” in 2026.

Four Women Reached The Summit

The team consisted of Constable Kouser Fatima from Ladakh, Constable Munmun Ghosh from West Bengal, Constable Rabeka Singh from Uttarakhand, and Constable Tsering Chorol from Kargil. According to the BSF, the four women reached the top of Mount Everest at 8 am (IST) on May 21.

The mission was launched under #MissionVandeMataram and was the first-ever all-women Everest expedition by the border-guarding force. The team had been flagged off from Delhi on April 6 for the climb. The expedition was also planned to celebrate the BSF’s Diamond Jubilee year.

They Sang Vande Mataram On Top

After reaching the summit, the four women sang ‘Vande Mataram’ together. BSF said the moment became a symbol of courage and the spirit of India’s Nari Shakti. At such a high altitude, many climbers need oxygen support and even standing properly becomes difficult.

Despite the harsh conditions, the women marked the achievement by singing the national song from the world’s highest peak. As per reports, BSF Director General Praveen Kumar later spoke to the team through a radio link and congratulated them on the achievement.

People Celebrate The Achievement

BSF India shared the news on Instagram, where people praised the team for the historic feat.

A user wrote, “Proud of you our BSF team.” Another said, “Congratulations to entire Team. Proud of you. Inspiring.”

A person commented, “Congratulations team BSF for the extraordinary feat. An all women summit is an exemplary achievement. kudos to each one of you …true bravehearts,” while another wrote, “This is amazing. Proud of you girls.”

Many others flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages and heart and fire emojis, celebrating the achievement of the four women who carried the spirit of Vande Mataram to the top of the world.
