Delhi CM announces 2 days WFH for government offices amid PM Modi’s austerity push

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday announced work from home for two days for government offices, days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s austerity push. The CM also urged for minimum usage of vehicles in order to consume fuel.

In a press conference, the Chief Minister further said that a similar request has been made to all the private offices operating in the national capital.

Rekha Gupta said that the official petrol and diesel quota for the Delhi government will be cut down by 20 percent, and all ministers’ officers have been asked to use the metro for commute on Mondays. She said that there will be no foreign visits by ministers and officers in Delhi for one year, and the state government won’t host any big event for the next three months.
