Vadodara: Two men who allegedly escaped from police custody in the city 11 years ago have been re-arrested by the Crime Branch. The duo was accused of circulating counterfeit currency and a complaint was registered against them at Jawahar Nagar police station.The accused, Mohammed Haq and Mohammed Narul Sheikh, both hailing from West Bengal, were arrested in 2015. Haq escaped from police custody after allegedly pushing a guard on duty while they were being taken to West Bengal for investigations. According to police, Narul also escaped from the lock-up and both were on the run.Recently, police received information about the whereabouts of the two accused. Haq was arrested from West Bengal, while Narul was apprehended from Maharashtra, police said.Both the accused have been handed over to the Jawahar Nagar police for further investigation.
