MUMBAI: Cracking down on “dazzling lights” on vehicles, Mumbai Traffic Police penalised 1,194 motorists as part of a special drive recently. Fines up to Rs 7.5 lakh were issued in this drive between Aug 6 and 8.Police said flashing lights, LED bars, fancy or harsh headlights were used by some vehicles at night, which impacted the vision of other road users and could lead to serious crashes. The action was taken under provisions of Motor Vehicles Act and Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Rules.Police have warned that action will continue in future and motorists should use low-beam lights at night.
