Ahmedabad: Two owners of a textile company in Danilimda have been accused of defaulting on Rs 2.01 crore for cloth bought on credit from four traders in Ahmedabad and Bhiwandi. A textile dealer from Raipur, with links to the traders, on Monday filed a complaint with the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB), alleging that the duo approached him in 2024 for cloth on credit, promising to pay within 90-100 days.According to the complaint, between Dec 2024 and Jan 2025, the accused purchased cloth worth Rs 39.6 lakh from four firms linked to the complainant and did not pay despite repeated demands. The complaint details three other sets of transactions involving traders from Bhiwandi and Ahmedabad. One Bhiwandi trader allegedly supplied cloth worth Rs 1.82 crore between Dec 2023 and Jan 2025. The accused paid only Rs 86.2 lakh, keeping close to Rs 96 lakh outstanding.Another Bhiwandi trader allegedly supplied cloth worth Rs 98 lakh between Oct 2023 and Jan 2025, of which the accused only paid around Rs 54 lakh in instalments. In two transactions involving Ahmedabad traders, the accused allegedly purchased cloth worth a combined Rs 21.9 lakh but failed to clear the dues, the complaint states.The total dues amount to Rs 2.01 crore. The complainant alleged that the accused gave assurances but did not pay up.
