Ahmedabad: Thirteen nominations for seats on the Ahmedabad Municipal School board were filed on Monday, the last day for filing. Elections were announced on July 25. Twelve BJP members and one Congress member submitted the forms. All were accepted.Among these, only one form was filed for the single seat reserved under the SC/ST category. An equal number of forms were submitted for the three seats reserved for candidates with matriculation or higher educational qualifications. Nine nominations were filed for eight general category seats.The forms will be scrutinised on Aug 17. Since nine forms have been filed for the eight general category seats, voting will be held at the mayor’s office on Aug 25 between 4 pm and 6 pm.From BJP, Pragnesh Patel, Ankit Rathod, Navin Patel, Nilay Shukla, Liladhar Khadke, Parth Trivedi, Nikki Shah, Ranjan Masiyawa, Chandradeepsinh Vaghela, Nita Prajapati, Amrut Rabari and Nandini Pandya have submitted forms. Sonal Patel, president of the Ahmedabad City Congress, has filed her nomination from Congress.It is being speculated that Pragnesh Patel may get the chairman’s seat and Ankit Rathod will be deputy chairman of the board.
