Chennai traffic police announce year-long traffic diversions at Thirumangalam
From July 13 to November 10

Chennai: City traffic police announced a year-long traffic diversion at Thirumangalam from MOnday (July 13) to July 12, 2027, to facilitate the construction of an elevated corridor under Chennai Metro Rail Limited’s Phase-II Corridor-5 project.As part of the traffic arrangements, the left-side service road along the 100-Feet Road at Thirumangalam will remain completely closed to vehicular traffic throughout the construction period.Vehicles travelling from the Padi flyover towards Ambattur will be diverted through 18th Main Road or 6th Avenue. Motorists should then turn left onto 13th Main Road, right onto 2nd Avenue, right onto the 100-Feet Road service road, and finally left onto Ambattur Estate Road to reach their destination.Vehicles travelling from the Padi flyover towards Koyambedu can continue to use the Thirumangalam flyover without any change to the existing traffic arrangement.Traffic police requested motorists and residents to cooperate with the revised traffic arrangements to ensure smooth traffic movement and facilitate the progress of the Metro Rail construction work.
