Mysuru: Authorities of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation Ltd (CESC), who are collecting details of beneficiaries of the Gruha Jyothi scheme, have said deadline to provide information is Aug 31.Rumours are being circulated on some social media platforms that July 31, 2026 is the last date for submitting beneficiary information, causing confusion among consumers and the general public. In a release, CESC authorities have clarified that power consumers have time till the end of Aug.Meanwhile, they said that the collection of beneficiary information under the Gruha Jyoti scheme is progressing smoothly and successfully across the five districts — Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Kodagu — under CESC jurisdiction.Urging Gruha Jyoti beneficiaries and electricity consumers should not to be worried or misled, CESC has asked consumers to provide their details within the stipulated time. There is no fee for this process, said CESC.CESC stated that meter readers or designated staff will visit the homes of Gruha Jyoti beneficiaries to gather the required information. Consumers are requested to keep the following documents ready.Documents required for beneficiary information is Aadhaar card, passport-size photograph of the beneficiary, voter ID cardPAN card if applicable and valid rental agreement documents, if applicable, and ration card, if applicable.
