Census house listing in Kerala to begin on July 1
Teachers and other govt employees have been appointed as enumerators for data collection, along with around 10,189 supervisors

T’puram: The house listing phase of Census 2027, India’s first fully digital census, will begin in Kerala on July 1, said general administration department secretary K Biju, who is the census state nodal officer.From July 1 to July 30, the house listing and housing census (HLO), will be carried out across Kerala. Thereafter, the population enumeration will be conducted in Feb 2027.A total of 33 questions have been notified for the census. The state govt had issued a notification on May 7, requesting the public to cooperate by providing accurate and clear information. As part of the exercise, the public can directly submit family details through the self-enumeration portal — census self-enumeration portal — during the 15-day self-enumeration period beginning on Tuesday. The information submitted online will be verified and confirmed by enumerators during field visits.Teachers and other govt employees have been appointed as enumerators for data collection, along with around 10,189 supervisors. Information will be collected by visiting house-listing blocks identified through a web-mapping application. Enumerators will use the HLO mobile application for data collection. The entire census operation will be coordinated through the census management and monitoring system web portal.
