The car festival of Soundararaja Perumal Temple at Thadikombu in Dindigul district was held on Wednesday as part of the ‘Adi’ celebrations.
A large number of devotees participated in the celebrations.
Lord Soundararaja Perumal and Goddess Soundaravalli Thayar and Andal were mounted on the temple car (ther) and taken out on a procession along the designated streets.
Devotees who had gathered in large numbers sought the blessings of the deities.
‘Adi’ celebrations at the temple commenced with the hosting of the holy flag on July 21. The celestial wedding was performed on July 27 followed by the rituals. Theerthavari will be held on July 30 and Teppa Utsavam (float festival) on July 31.
Dindigul Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department officials and others were present.
