Unable to put up with the death of her husband, R. Kamuthai, 38, ended her life after attempting to kill her two children at Bodi in Theni district on Monday.
Kamuthai was married to Raja and the couple had two children, Mathuhasini, 16, and Seeni Harshit, 14, in Mela Chokkanathapuram. Raja died on July 15 owing to illness. Unable to deal with the grief, Kamuthai on Monday allegedly tried to kill her children and end her life. However, her daughter alerted her grandmother who was living in the neighbourhood. All the three were admitted to the Government hospital in Bodi. While Kamuthai died, the two children are under treatment.
