CCTV footage from a five-star hotel near the Bengaluru airport shows a man spending nearly four hours wandering around the premises after allegedly killing his two daughters, before returning to their room and attempting suicide.
According to the Bengaluru police, Imran S G allegedly killed his daughters, aged 10 and 5, around 1 pm Monday, after the hotel’s check-out time. He then left the room and moved around the hotel until around 4.30 pm, when he returned and attempted suicide, the police added.
He was found unconscious in the room and was shifted to Manipal Hospital for further treatment.
“During the probe, we went through the CCTV footage, which showed he was roaming around in the hotel. It appears that he did not know what to do after killing his own children. He looked stressed, but none of the hotel staff noticed it,” a police officer said.
Imran, who was born and brought up in Bengaluru and is originally from Palamaner in Andhra Pradesh, married Sana 12 years ago. The couple, who have been living separately, had agreed that their children would stay with Sana on weekdays and with Imran on weekends.
They were also in a dispute over their jointly owned apartment and the custody of their children, with Imran seeking his Rs 8 lakh share in the property and full custody of the children as part of the divorce discussions, the police said.
A fight, an accusation
Last Saturday, Imran took his children to his elder brother’s apartment, and the next day he checked into the hotel.

“Sana was aware as she spoke to her daughter over the phone, and the elder one carried a laptop, and the location was shared with Sana. The mother did not object as Imran had taken them to the luxurious hotel and expected that her kids would enjoy the ambience,” the officer added.
On Sunday, a fight between the couple broke out on WhatsApp over custody of the children. When Imran refused to return the children, Sana threatened to take legal action against him.
The officer said Imran stated in the two-page purported suicide note that he did not want his children to grow up in such an environment, and he would take them with him.
“He claimed that his wife was having an affair with someone and often complained about it. They attended counselling sessions and two months ago they separated, and the divorce petition from Imran was yet to be moved,” the officer said.

Imran has been booked for murder by the International Airport police. On Tuesday, the bodies of the two children were handed over to Sana and her family members after an autopsy was conducted.
