A Bengaluru AI startup founder says leaving his Rs 75 lakh corporate job made him “kind of broke”, but he still calls it the best decision of his life.

His honest post sparked a debate on startup life and job stability
Leaving a high-paying corporate job is a dream many people talk about, but very few actually do it. One Bengaluru startup founder has now opened up about making that choice and why he still believes it was worth it, even after losing financial stability.
Aksht Jain, founder of AI startup Eklyai, recently shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he walked away from a Rs 75 lakh per annum corporate job in Bengaluru to focus fully on entrepreneurship. His honest post quickly started a wider conversation online about money, work culture and the emotional side of building a startup.
Founder Talks About Quitting Job
In his post, Jain wrote, “I left my 75LPA job in BLR 1 year ago to pursue entrepreneurship. Right now I am kinda broke, but I would still say that it was the best thing I could have done.”
He explained that while his income dropped after leaving the corporate world, he gained something he personally valued more, freedom, learning and a stronger sense of purpose.
According to Jain, entrepreneurship helped him move away from what he described as “zero sum office politics.”
He also shared that every day feels different because he constantly gets to learn new things while building his company.
In another post, he reflected on how corporate jobs often felt “performative” to him, especially when it came to workplace behaviour and team dynamics.
He said startup life may be uncertain and financially difficult at times, but the excitement of building something from scratch makes the experience rewarding.
Internet Reacts To His Decision
Soon after the post spread online, many users shared their own thoughts and experiences around quitting stable jobs to start something independently.
A user wrote, “I just quit my job as well 1 month back, now the honeymoon phase has ended and it’s hitting me properly. Any tips for someone starting out from your experience?”

Still living in my hometown village with my parents, never went to any big city chasing money. But yes… I am genuinely happy. Respect for going all in brother.”
A user also said, “Only courageous soul can do it… Someday, when you feel relatively stable do write about your journey Your mistakes can be someone’s learning Good luck buddy, hope you sort this out soon :)”
