The Legal Coordination Committee (LCC) for Government Doctors has requested the Chief Minister to fulfil their long-standing demands.

In a statement issued, LCC also demanded a government job for the wife of Vivekanandan, a government doctor who lost his life while on duty during COVID-19.

According to the National Statistical Office, 43% of the patients in Tamil Nadu, especially those from the marginalised communities, seek treatment in government hospitals. Yet, adequate posts for doctors and nurses were never created under both the AIADMK and the DMK regimes, the association said.

It also urged the Chief Minister to grant pay band-4 at 12 years of service under Government Order 354. It hoped the present government would fulfil the demands of government doctors.
