With speculation regarding his future put to rest by BCCI secretary Devajit Sakia on Friday, its safe to say Rohit Sharma will walk out to bat in the third ODI at Lords on Sunday for not the final time in India colours.

Rohit has endured a series to forget so far, having registered scores of 11 and 26 in the first and second ODIs respectively, and will be hoping to score big at Lords and cement his place in the team for the upcoming 2027 ODI World Cup.

The opener, however, at a time when he’s been short of runs and looking to turnaround his form, however arrives at a ground where he does not have a great track record.

Rohit has played five matches at Lords across formats and has scored just 133 runs at an average of just 22.16 and a strike rate of 58.33, which is a marked contrast to his overall numbers in England- the 39-year-old has amassed 2298 runs in 47 matches at an impressive average of 49.95, including nine hundreds and ten fifties.

Rohit has scored only one half-century at Lords, when he scored 83 in the second Test of the five match series in August 2021.

In ODIs, Rohit has played just the two matches and has scored only 15 runs, and will be looking to improve his record come the decider on Sunday.
