A Rajasthan-based lawyer has sparked a debate online after details of an unusual legal dispute involving a Hyundai Alcazar surfaced on social media. The viral post, shared by X user Pratham Khanna, who goes by the handle @Portfolio_Bull, said a lawyer identified as Kirti Singh purchased a Hyundai Alcazar worth approximately Rs 24 lakh.
However, after buying the SUV, she allegedly encountered several serious issues that affected the vehicle’s performance.
The post claimed that the car suffered from engine vibrations, power loss during acceleration and difficulties while overtaking, which Singh believed posed potential safety concerns. Despite reportedly raising multiple complaints with the company, she allegedly did not receive a satisfactory resolution.
As a result, Singh is said to have initiated legal proceedings against Hyundai. What caught the attention of social media users, however, was the claim that she also included Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the case because they had endorsed the brand as its ambassadors.
The viral post stated: “Imagine buying a car and ending up suing the celebrities from the ad. 🤐”
The unusual nature of the case quickly sparked a debate online, with users expressing a mix of reactions from the lawyer’s decision.
One user commented, “Filing a case against the brand ambassador sounds like a good idea, but not sure if the court will accept the case against them. That’s questionable.”
Another wrote, “Imagine buying a car and ending up in a legal battle with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone. That’s not in the owner’s manual. 🤣😜”
A third user suggested that the legal action may have been intended to pressure the company into responding, saying, “And then ,Hyundai must have responded properly to Kirti Singh. Sometimes, घी सीधी उंगली से न निकले, तो उंगली टेढ़ी करनी पड़ती है”.
Not everyone was convinced by the allegations. One user questioned the claims and remarked, “Engine vibration and power loss during acceleration?? What the hell is this bullshit. Made up issues – bc ye lawyers ke paas cases na ho to khud hi logo ko sue kar dete hain bina baat ke.”

Others argued that celebrity endorsers should also bear some responsibility for the products they promote. One comment read, “Shah Rukh Khanna and Deepika are liable. For false advertising. As actors they are playing false, and out of greed they indulge in advertising. There’s no limit to their money-grubbing.”
Meanwhile, another user offered a more legal perspective on the matter, writing, “This kind of case usually comes down to consumer liability and advertising endorsement law brand ambassadors can be named in complaints, but actual responsibility typically depends on how the court interprets their role in misleading promotion vs. product manufacturing defects.”
