Kanpur: A commotion erupted at the police station located in the Badausa area of Banda when a woman, who had left her home with her lover, was found and subsequently attacked by her father with a knife. The woman, who sustained serious injuries, was transported by the police to the Community Health Centre. Following initial treatment, she was referred to a medical college, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.Shivani, a 19-year-old from Barchha village in the Badausa police station area, had allegedly eloped with her partner Lalit (23) on the night of May 18. In connection with this case, the woman’s mother filed an FIR against Lalit, a resident of a neighbouring village, accusing him of enticing and abducting her daughter. The police had been actively searching for both individuals since then.On Friday morning, police located them in the Baraundha area of Satna district in Madhya Pradesh and brought them to the Badausa police station. During the interrogation, the family members from both sides were informed and summoned. It was during this time that the family learned the young woman had married her lover. Despite her father’s prolonged attempts to persuade her otherwise, she remained adamant about staying with Lalit.In a fit of rage, her father unexpectedly stabbed her four times with a knife, inflicting three wounds to her abdomen and one to her hand. Following the incident, the police personnel quickly managed the situation and transported the injured young woman to the CHC in a private vehicle. After receiving initial treatment, the doctors, recognizing the severity of her condition, referred her to Rani Durgavati medical college. Tragically, upon arrival at the medical college, the woman passed away.In the aftermath of the incident, based on a complaint filed by the young woman’s mother, Ranno Chauhan, the police registered an FIR against the accused father, Satya Kumar.Police station in-charge Ajit Kumar confirmed that an FIR has been filed based on the complaint, and the accused father has been apprehended. Appropriate actions are being undertaken.
