A Rapido ride booking has gone viral on X after a user posted a screenshot claiming that his ride stayed active for over four hours without being cancelled. In the viral post, user @Neatharrozz shared the image of his ongoing Rapido booking.
According to the post, the app indicated that the captain had already arrived and that the user was being charged Rs 1 per minute. However, what stood out was the unusually long waiting duration displayed on the screen, 264 minutes and 52 seconds, far exceeding the typical waiting time window of around 2 minutes for bikes and autos, and approximately 5 minutes for cab services.
The user claimed that despite the long wait, the driver had not cancelled the ride from his end. Expressing his frustration, he captioned the post: “This guy hasn’t cancelled my rapido in 4 hours.” The screenshot also showed the driver’s details, including the name “Awadhesh Singh” and a vehicle registration number from Haryana.
The post rapidly gained traction on X, reportedly receiving between 207.7k views and around 3.3k likes, sparking widespread discussion among users.
Social media users flooded the comment section with mixed reactions. One user joked, “He’s coming be patient,” while another shared a more aggressive workaround strategy, writing:
“Book ride from a different app and let it remain as it is. These chindi chors deserve a lesson. Just for that 15-20₹ cancellation charges he will make you wait forever. I did same once the car was going to a different direction after taking my booking for several minutes. I just booked from other app, that idiot arrived 2 hours later i didn’t picked up the call and cancelled the ride then 🤣🤣”
Another user called it out as a “Classic Rapido scam,” saying: “Book another ride and ghost this one. Let him wait,” while a different comment raised concern over system accountability:
“There mist be auto cancelation 5-8 minutes if driver is not interested or playing game with customer. Customer shouldn’t liable for systemic negligence and harassment.”
Adding a humorous twist, one user wrote, “In 30million years Awadhesh Singh will surpass both Adani and Ambani @ ₹1/min. Don’t say i didn’t warn you,” while another simply commented, “Nashe mein hoga.”
Skepticism also emerged, with a user stating, “Fake. ride automatically gets cancelled after 20mins,” and another warning, “Waiting fees will be easily 3x than drop fees.”
