Mohali Office Attack Sparks Debate; Internet Ask, ‘Why Didn’t Anyone Stop Him?’

A tragic incident in Mohali, Punjab has led to widespread discussion online after a woman was allegedly killed inside her workplace by a colleague said to be her former partner. The incident, which took place in a private company office, has left people shocked and raised questions about safety inside workspaces.

According to reports, the accused entered the office during the evening hours and attacked the woman while she was working. The situation escalated quickly, and despite attempts by nearby employees to intervene, the attack could not be stopped. The accused later attempted self-harm inside the same office.

Both were rushed to a hospital, where the woman was declared dead and the man remains in critical condition.

CCTV Clip Triggers Shock Online

As CCTV visuals and details of the incident circulated online, social media users reacted strongly. Many expressed shock that such a serious attack could unfold inside a workplace, while others questioned how it escalated without effective intervention.

The footage became a key point of discussion, with users calling it disturbing and difficult to process. As details of the incident emerged online, users expressed shock, sadness and concern over what had happened inside a workplace.

A user questioned how the attack unfolded despite other people being present, writing, “This happened inside office and no one saw and stopped him??”

Another felt there may be more to the case than what is currently known. “Definitely some other reason no one attack like this and then kill himself. Police need to investigate what was real problem,” the user commented. Another user commented: “In Mohali, 30-year-old Dimple was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend right at her office. The reason being cited is simply that he couldn’t accept the breakup. The entire incident was captured on CCTV. After that, the accused even attempted suicide. This isn’t love. This is anger, coercion, and violence. No person has the right to claim ownership over another just because they were once in a relationship. Can’t some people learn to hear “no” and accept it? “No” means no. Why doesn’t this ever sink in???”

Some users reflected on the emotional aspect of relationships. “I think most humans are handling everything with emotions when it comes to relationship instead, we should learn to handle it with brain. Most men are following emotional decisions only,” wrote a person.

Others stressed that rejection should never lead to violence. “Rejection is painful. Violence is a choice. ‘No’ should never put someone’s life at risk,” a user said.

Several comments strongly condemned the accused’s actions. A person wrote, “Only cowards can do this, what this coward did to Dimple.” Another user called for a more balanced understanding of relationships, saying, “Relationship is not a game, and nor all persons may have the same view for relationships, not taking anyone’s side here.”
