The controversy intensified after senior leader Ramalinga Reddy resigned from his ministerial position over the portfolio assigned to him. The development was followed by reported dissatisfaction from another senior Congress leader, KH Muniyappa, who is also said to have expressed reservations about the department allotted to him.
The back-to-back developments have drawn attention to internal differences within the ruling party and raised questions about the cabinet formation process.

The opposition BJP has seized on the developments to criticise the government.
State BJP president and BY Vijayendra claimed that the resignation of Ramalinga Reddy represented the “first wicket” to fall in the new administration and argued that the government’s functioning indicated growing instability.
He further suggested that the political situation could eventually lead to midterm elections, adding that the BJP was prepared for such a scenario.
Leader of Opposition R Ashoka also criticised the government, alleging that disagreements within the Congress had become increasingly visible. He claimed that recurring disputes within the ruling party reflected deeper problems in its functioning and echoed predictions of political instability.

The resignation of Ramalinga Reddy shortly after the formation of the ministry has intensified scrutiny of the government’s internal dynamics.
