Youth dies 2 days after being stabbed with awl, 5 held
All five accused are from Titu Colony in Faridabad

Gurgaon: A 27-year-old youth who was assaulted with sticks, rods and an awl in Sai Colony, Faridabad, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, two days after the attack.Police have arrested five persons in connection with the matter. A case had been registered at the Kheripul police station after the attack. After the death of the victim, Viresh alias Nanhe, on Wednesday, murder charges were added to the case.According to the complaint filed by the Viresh’s brother Mukesh, the incident occurred on May 11 when he, Viresh and others were standing outside their house in Mavai village. An i20 car arrived and all five of the accused got down to assault Viresh with sticks and rods. During the attack, one accused, Praveen, stabbed Viresh with an awl, following which all the accused fled the spot, the complainant said.After their arrest, the accused, all residents of Titu Colony, said they were told to carry out the assault by one Sain, who had a monetary dispute with Viresh.ACP (crime branch) Varun Kumar Dahiya said Sain, a resident of Sector 29, had several arguments with the victim over money before the latter’s murder.A few days before the incident, Sain had allegedly demanded money from Viresh, who refused to pay. Sain later called a meeting with his associates at Titu Colony and instructed them to assault Viresh.Sain is currently absconding and efforts are under way to arrest him, the ACP said.
