Years gone, Gurgaon civic body sets Dec deadline for new headquarters launch
The building, which is coming up on Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, is expected to become the corporation’s main administrative headquarters from Jan 2027

Gurgaon: MCG has set a Dec 2026 deadline for its new headquarters in Sector 14 after years of delay. During an inspection on Monday, MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya has now directed the executing agency to finish construction within the stipulated time frame. The building, which is coming up at Vyapar Sadan on Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, is expected to become the corporation’s main administrative headquarters from Jan 2027.“With the start of the new building, the working system of the corporation will become more effective, transparent and technology-based,” Dahiya said about the Rs 184-crore project. Spread over about 8,580 square metres, the complex will comprise 10 levels, including three basement floors.Its foundation stone was laid on Dec 10, 2021 by former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar. The building is designed to house key administrative wings of the corporation, including the mayor’s office, councillors’ rooms, engineering branches, revenue department, finance and accounts wings, and public health and sanitation departments.According to officials, the project is aimed at consolidating civic administration in a purpose-built facility and accommodating the corporation’s expanding operational requirements. The building will also include conference facilities, meeting rooms, office space, and parking for more than 400 cars and 250 two-wheelers.Dahiya reviewed the pace and quality of construction and directed officials to ensure that the project remains on schedule. The new headquarters is among the largest infrastructure projects currently being undertaken by the civic body and is expected to serve as its central administrative hub upon completion.
