Woman held for  misappropriating govt grant in name of madrassa

Varanasi: Atrauliya police arrested a 35-year-old woman, Renu Yadav, from her residence in Azamgarh district on Monday on charges of misappropriating govt grant through forged documents in the name of madrassa.Azamgarh SP Anil Kumar on Monday said that after a complaint lodged on the basis of economic offence wing (EOW) investigation report on March 19, 2025, a case was lodged against manager and teachers of Madrasa Faizekaushar Nisban, Rukumalpur in Atrauliya. The accused–Yadav, Riyaz Ahmad, Kiran Pal, and Anwar Ahmad– were booked on the charges of cheating and forgery.On Monday morning, teams carrying out raids to nab the accused received inputs regarding presence of Yadav at her residence. The police raided the place and arrested her.The investigation had exposed that the manager and teachers of the Madrasa prepared forged documents through criminal conspiracy, used them as genuine records, and embezzled govt funds and grants.
