On Tuesday, the Combat Army Aviation Training School (CAATS) held its passing‑out parade, marking the completion of flight training for new officers. Among them was Captain Bharat Bhardwaj. Dressed in his ceremonial military uniform, Bharat had more than one milestone planned for the day.
Moments after the parade ended, he walked across the tarmac toward his girlfriend, Arushi. With an Army helicopter parked nearby as a dramatic backdrop, Bharat went down on one knee and proposed marriage with an engagement ring.
Videos show Arushi visibly surprised before saying yes, as family members, fellow officers, instructors, and guests erupted into applause and cheers.
Speaking after the event, Captain Bharat explained why he chose the occasion: completing flight training was a major milestone, and he wanted to make the day unforgettable for both his family and his fiancée. He shared that he and Arushi had known each other for five years, and this was the perfect moment to take the next step.
The video has since spread across platforms, celebrated as a heartwarming blend of discipline, love, and pride.
Some reactions to Captain Bharat Bhardwaj’s viral proposal highlighted both criticism and praise. One viewer wrote,
“The proposal was not important; creating a scene to gain fame was the real objective. There should be disciplinary action.” Another questioned the backdrop, saying, “Why to take amplify the scene using a Military Helicopter as background? Is the Helicopter his private property? The Helicopter and all expenses for his training is borne by Tax payer citizen’s money.”

Others shared more supportive words. One comment read, “Capt Bhardwaj, heartiest congratulations to you and the lady. Happy that you shared a happy personal moment to the whole world.” Another reflected on the risks of Army Aviation, noting, “Everyday people see the news about Helicopter crash taking place and Officers of the Army Aviation Corps losing their lives. This is just the other side of the life of the Army Aviator who made his Day Special first when he earned his Coveted Wings and second by proposing to his Girlfriend.”
